About the Project
الزغاريد — أو الزلاغيط — هي أحد أعمق التعبيرات الثقافية الشفهية في الوطن العربي، تُعبّر عن الفرح والاحتفال والتضامن الاجتماعي في مناسبات الأفراح والأعياد والانتصارات. وعلى الرغم من انتشارها الواسع من المغرب إلى العراق، فإن توثيقها العلمي لا يزال شحيحاً.
يهدف هذا المشروع إلى إنتاج فيلم وثائقي شامل يجمع أنماط الزغاريد من مختلف الدول العربية، ويُبرز الوحدة الثقافية العربية من خلال هذا الموروث الصوتي المشترك، تمهيداً لتقديم ملف الترشيح لليونسكو.
Zaghareet (ululation) is one of the deepest oral cultural expressions in the Arab world, expressing joy, celebration, and social solidarity at weddings, holidays, and victories. Despite its widespread presence from Morocco to Iraq, its scientific documentation remains scarce.
This project aims to produce a comprehensive documentary film gathering Zaghareet patterns from various Arab countries, highlighting Arab cultural unity through this shared sonic heritage, in preparation for submitting a UNESCO nomination file.
